SRINAGAR: Police in North Kashmir’s Baramulla implemented cutting-edge GPS tracking technology to oversee the activities of released drug dealers.
A police spokesperson in a statement said that Baramulla police have complied with a court order by fitting a GPS tracking device onto a recently bailed drug dealer involved in a case under the NDPS Act at PS Baramulla.
The individual in question was apprehended with illicit substances and was recently granted bail. The GPS ankle bracelet will be utilised to monitor the whereabouts of the drug dealer, ensuring compliance with bail conditions.
Notably, earlier this month, Kupwara became the first district in Kashmir to deploy GPS ankle bracelets on individuals released on bail for narcotics-related offences.
