CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — The Republican race for West Virginia governor is coming down to the wire, with less than three weeks to go.
The primary is on Tuesday, May 14. Our most recent poll showed more than 1/4 of Republican voters are still undecided, so which way they turn could be key.
Here’s who is running in the 2024 West Virginia Primaries
Current Secretary of State Mac Warner is seeking the nomination. Warner has run state elections and welcomed new businesses to West Virginia for the past eight years. But he says his years as a schoolteacher and his more than two decades in the military, make him well qualified to be governor.
“And the military teaches you through things such as personnel, operations, intelligence, logistics. That’s what you need to get important things done across government. But that all comes from that military background. It’s just ingrained in me. It’s who I am,” said Secretary of State Mac Warner (R) Candidate for West Virginia governor.
