Dr. O. Jerome Eco-friendly, president of Shorter Higher education in North Small Rock, handed away Monday (April 8), according to a press launch from the faculty.
Environmentally friendly, 69, was appointed as the 45th president of Shorter University in 2012. He beforehand served at Miles School and served on the Arkansas Ethics Commission.
“President Green’s passing is a incredible loss, not only for Shorter School, but to the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the HBCU community. He was a wonderful leader who cared deeply about college students, faculty and personnel,” said Shorter School Provost and Vice President for Administration Jeffery Norflett. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his spouse and spouse and children.”
Eco-friendly earned his Juris Physician at the UA Minimal Rock Bowen University of Legislation, a Master of Arts in Journalism at The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Miles College or university.
Green had a distinguished vocation in higher instruction, economic growth, and small business and litigation consulting.
Less than his administration at Shorter Faculty, there had been document breaking enrollment and graduates, new academic applications, and the institution of the STEM Center for Academic Excellence.

Shorter University is a personal, faith-centered two-yr liberal arts college located in North Small Rock. It was founded in 1886 by the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
It is just one of the country’s 110 Traditionally Black Colleges and Universities.
