CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — A Georgia man has been sentenced for their part in a key drug trafficking corporation.
In accordance to the U.S. Division of Justice, Perry Johnson Jr., 30, of Dunwoody, Georgia, was sentenced to 11 many years and 3 months in jail, which will then be adopted by three years of supervised release.
Johnson is amongst the dozens of defendants charged in an 8-month-extensive investigation recognized as “Operation Smoke and Mirrors.”
In the procedure, authorities seized more than 200 pounds of methamphetamine alongside with 28 pounds of cocaine, 20 lbs . of fentanyl, 18 firearms, and $747,000 in money.
The operation included the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the U.S. Division of Homeland Security-Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Bureau of Alcoholic beverages, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the U.S. Postal Inspection Services, the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team (MDENT), the West Virginia State Police, the West Virginia National Guard Counter Drug method, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Workplace, the Charleston Law enforcement Office, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Place of work and the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Workplace.
MDENT includes the Charleston Police Office, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Business, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Workplace, the Nitro Law enforcement Division, the St. Albans Law enforcement Office and the South Charleston Police Division.
