BOYD/GREENUP COUNTIES, KY (WOWK) – First responders are investigating a smell of natural gas in two eastern Kentucky counties.
911 officials in Boyd and Greenup counties say a smell of natural gas has been reported in the Ashland, Russell and Flatwoods areas as well as other parts of Eastern Greenup County. Greenup County E-911 officials say at this point no natural gas has been detected.

According to Boyd County dispatchers, the smell was first reported to them around 3:10 p.m., the Ashland Fire Department is checking throughout their city.
The Greenup County E-911 says residents are advised to turn off any air conditioners or fans until the smell passes.
